Albert Bierstadt — Hand-Painted Oil Reproductions

1830–1902 · American Hudson River School
6 paintings in stock100% Hand-Painted

Bierstadt painted the American Rockies the way a theatre director stages a finale — enormous canvases, golden light coming through from behind the peaks, everything slightly larger than life. His pictures did more to convince Americans the West was worth crossing than any government pamphlet did.

Albert Bierstadt paintings we have in stock

Every canvas below is painted by hand in oil on real artist canvas by our studio painters in Dafen Village, Shenzhen. Pick a size, pick a frame, and we send photographs of the finished painting for your approval before anything ships.

Why Albert Bierstadt is hard to reproduce properly

The light is backlit, so the whole structure of these paintings runs from a bright horizon into a darker foreground. Reverse that and the picture becomes an ordinary landscape in an unusual frame. Getting the glow without making the sky look like a sunset also requires restraint, which is harder than it sounds.

How our painters work

We build the glowing passages with a warm gold ground left partly visible under thin mist-greens and blues, rather than painting light on top of dark, because the second method always goes muddy at distance.

Every canvas is made to order, so nothing sits in a warehouse. A 70% deposit starts the work and the balance is due after you have approved photographs of your finished painting. We never sell these as originals and never issue certificates of authenticity for them — they are honest reproductions, painted by hand.

We benchmark every canvas against the published list price of the big Dafen export studios and stay $20 below it at every single size — the same painters, the same 400gsm linen and the same hand-painted process, without the platform margin. Estimates only: the final quote depends on your exact size, frame and shipping destination. Framing and shipping are quoted separately. Duties and import taxes are the buyer's responsibility (DAP).

💬 Ask About a Albert Bierstadt Reproduction
Honest labelling: all reference images on this page are public-domain scans of the original works, shown so you can judge the composition. Albert Bierstadt died in 1902 and the paintings are in the public domain, which makes hand-painted reproductions legal to commission and own worldwide. Every canvas we sell is painted by hand in our own studio; we never present it as an original and never issue fake certificates.

FAQ

Are these real oil paintings?

Yes — genuine oil paint on artist canvas, applied by hand by one of our studio painters. Nothing is printed, traced or transferred from a scan.

Can I request a Albert Bierstadt painting that is not listed here?

Yes. If the work is in the public domain we can paint it. Send us a reference image and we will tell you how it will translate to your size.

What sizes can I order?

Any size. The painter works freehand from a reference, so we can also adjust the crop to suit the proportions of your wall.

How do I approve it?

We photograph the finished painting on the bench before packing. You approve, then pay the 30% balance and we ship.

How long does it take?

Most canvases take 2–4 weeks depending on size and how busy the studio is. Layered oil needs proper drying time and we do not shortcut it.
