What the painter is doing here
Market Day in Constantinople catches people in the middle of doing something. The interest is entirely in the interval between the figures — who is speaking, who has stopped listening.
Market Day in Constantinople. Our painter follows the same logic rather than copying a photograph of it: the figures are drawn first and the colour put on top, so the bodies keep their weight.

Why this one cannot be printed
A reproduction of figures depends on the interval between them — who is looking at whom. Printing compresses the values and that interval disappears; painted by hand it stays readable across a room.
Every canvas is painted to order, so the quote follows your size, frame and destination rather than a fixed list. Tell us what you need on WhatsApp and we reply with an exact figure, usually within the hour. You are buying from the workshop, not a catalogue.
Choosing a size
The canvas is cut to your wall. For reference, these are the dimensions clients request most:
| Size (inches) | Size (cm) | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 16 × 12 in | 40 × 30 cm | A shelf, a small wall, a gallery group |
| 64 × 48 in | 163 × 122 cm | Villa scale, lobby, hospitality wall |
| 48 × 36 in | 122 × 91 cm | Large living room, stairwell, loft |
| 40 × 30 in | 102 × 76 cm | Living room focal wall, above a sofa |
| 32 × 24 in | 81 × 61 cm | Living room, above a sideboard |
| 30 × 24 in | 76 × 61 cm | Dining room, bedroom feature wall |
The table covers the common cases. Odd proportions are handled the same way. Frames and delivery are priced once you have chosen them. Any duties or import taxes are payable by the buyer (DAP).

💬 Get a Quote for Market Day in ConstantinopleWhere this one sits best
It sits naturally in a study or library corner. The painter works freehand on a blank canvas, so we keep the proportions of the original rather than cropping to fit — an unusually wide or tall composition stays honest at any size.
The practical questions
When will it actually arrive?
Studio time is roughly two to four weeks, then a few more days for the oil to set before we can photograph and pack it. We tell you where your canvas is at each stage.
What about duties and import taxes?
Those are the buyer's responsibility (DAP). The amounts are set by your customs authority, not by us.
What if my wall is an unusual shape?
That is normal for us. Send the measurements and we will work out a canvas proportion that suits the space.
