Reading the canvas
Morning in the Highlands: the royal family ascending Lochnagartitle in the High gives you the place without putting anyone in it. What holds the canvas together is the horizon: low, patient, and the reason the sky feels so much larger than the ground.
Morning in the Highlands: the royal family ascending Lochnagartitle in the High. Our painter follows the same logic rather than copying a photograph of it: the far distances go down cool and weak, the near ground stays loaded, and nothing is blended flat.

What a print loses
Landscape is the first thing printing ruins. The press gives you the same green at fifty metres as at five, and the whole point of the picture was that they are not the same green. A painter rebuilds that difference pass by pass, and the depth returns.
Every canvas is painted to order, so the quote follows your size, frame and destination rather than a fixed list. Tell us what you need on WhatsApp and we reply with an exact figure, usually within the hour. There is no agency in between; the studio that paints your canvas is the one answering your messages.
Canvas sizes
Because we paint each piece from scratch, you are not limited to stock dimensions. Common choices:
| Size (inches) | Size (cm) | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 40 × 30 in | 102 × 76 cm | Living room focal wall, above a sofa |
| 32 × 24 in | 81 × 61 cm | Living room, above a sideboard |
| 30 × 24 in | 76 × 61 cm | Dining room, bedroom feature wall |
| 24 × 20 in | 60 × 50 cm | Study, home office, above a desk |
Larger canvases are possible, and so is anything in between. Just send the size you want. Shipping and framing are not included in the canvas quote. Duties and import taxes are for the buyer's account (DAP).
Tell us where it will hang and how big it needs to be — we will price it properly.

We have painted it most often for clients hanging it over a sofa or sideboard. Proportions follow the original, not the nearest standard frame size. Anything panoramic or vertical is handled as a matter of course.
Before you order
Will the dark passages look muddy?
That is the main risk in a night painting and the reason it cannot be printed. The painter mixes darks from colour rather than reaching for black, which keeps them transparent instead of dead.
Is there a rush option?
It depends on the canvas and what else is in the studio. Ask on WhatsApp with your size and we will tell you straight what is possible.
Is it really painted by hand?
Yes. We hand-paint from public-domain source images, do not sell prints, and never claim the original.
