Édouard Debat-Ponsan opens the view wide here — Debat-Ponsan gives you the place without putting anyone in it. The land is built in layers, each one a different temperature of the same colour, so the eye walks into the distance instead of stopping at the frame.

Why hand-painting matters here
What you lose in a print is the air. The original puts hazier, cooler paint between you and the horizon; a press prints the haze as a flat wash. Handled by hand the far ground goes back where it belongs.

Questions worth asking
How long does a hand-painted version take?
Roughly two to four weeks of studio time, depending mostly on size and how much impasto the surface carries, then several more days for the oil to set before we photograph, pack and send.
Can I get this in a size that is not listed?
Yes — the listed sizes are the common requests, not a limit. Very wide or unusually tall proportions are routine for us.
Why not just print it?
A print flattens the surface into a poster: the distance collapses and the highlights turn to grey. Paint keeps the depth and the texture the original was built from.
