Reading the canvas
Overlap does most of the spatial work; there is very little linear perspective.
Aerial perspective is pushed further than it strictly should be, and it works.
No date is firmly attached to it; it is catalogued under Frederick Goodall.

Why paint it by hand
What you lose in a print is the air. The original puts hazier, cooler paint between you and the horizon; a press prints the haze as a flat wash. Handled by hand the far ground goes back where it belongs.
There is no price list because there is no standard job. Tell us the wall, the size and whether you want it framed, and we will come back with a figure. You deal directly with the studio that paints it — no reseller layer.
Choosing a size
Every canvas is painted to order, so the size is yours to choose. These are the ones people ask for most:
| Size (inches) | Size (cm) | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 16 × 12 in | 40 × 30 cm | A shelf, a small wall, a gallery group |
| 64 × 48 in | 163 × 122 cm | Villa scale, lobby, hospitality wall |
| 48 × 36 in | 122 × 91 cm | Large living room, stairwell, loft |
| 40 × 30 in | 102 × 76 cm | Living room focal wall, above a sofa |
| 32 × 24 in | 81 × 61 cm | Living room, above a sideboard |
These are the usual requests, not a limit. Anything in between, or bigger, is just a matter of asking. We quote the canvas first; framing and shipping come after. Import duties and taxes fall to the buyer (DAP).
Send the wall, the size and whether you want a frame, and we will quote.

In practice it works best on a stairwell wall, where the depth opens the space up. Because each canvas is built from scratch, we follow the original's proportions instead of trimming the image to a standard shape. Panoramic and vertical formats are both fine.
The practical questions
What if my wall is an unusual shape?
That is normal for us. Send the measurements and we will work out a canvas proportion that suits the space.
How close will it be to the original?
The composition, colour and drawing follow the original closely; the brushwork carries the painter's own hand. The painter works freehand on a blank canvas, following the same logic as the original rather than copying a photograph.
How long does a hand-painted version take?
Roughly two to four weeks of studio time, depending mostly on size and how much impasto the surface carries, then several more days for the oil to set before we photograph, pack and send.
