Why paint it by hand
What you lose in a print is the air. The original puts hazier, cooler paint between you and the horizon; a press prints the haze as a flat wash. Handled by hand the far ground goes back where it belongs.
The number depends on the canvas. Larger means more paint and more studio hours; heavy texture and framing add again. Tell us what you have in mind and we will price it. There is no agency in between; the studio that paints your canvas is the one answering your messages.
Choosing a size
Because we paint each piece from scratch, you are not limited to stock dimensions. Common choices:

We have painted it most often for clients hanging it on a stairwell wall, where the depth opens the space up. Proportions follow the original, not the nearest standard frame size. Anything panoramic or vertical is handled as a matter of course.

Do you work from my own photograph?
Yes, though that is a separate service. This page is for a hand-painted version of Un appenti, PPD; for a photo-to-painting commission, send the image on WhatsApp.
How close will it be to the original?
The composition, colour and drawing follow the original closely; the brushwork carries the painter's own hand. The painter works freehand on a blank canvas, following the same logic as the original rather than copying a photograph.
What about duties and import taxes?
Those are the buyer's responsibility (DAP). The amounts are set by your customs authority, not by us.
