Our Josef Čapek reproductions
Every canvas below is painted by hand in oil on real artist canvas by our studio painters in Dafen Village, Shenzhen. Pick a size, pick a frame, and we send photographs of the finished painting for your approval before anything ships.
Why a painted copy beats a print
A print reproduces the image and loses the surface. Oil paint keeps every mark separate and physical, so there is something for your eye to do at close range and the picture does not flatten into wallpaper on a large wall. Our painters work from the public-domain source image and rebuild it in the order it was originally built.

💬 Request a Josef Čapek PaintingQuestions
Is it legal to buy a Josef Čapek reproduction?
Yes. Josef Čapek died in 1945, so the work is in the public domain — hand-painted reproductions are legal to commission and own worldwide. We sell them clearly as reproductions, never as originals, and never issue certificates of authenticity.
How long does it take?
Most take two to four weeks depending on size and the studio queue. Layered oil needs proper drying time. The timeline is confirmed in writing before any deposit.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes, worldwide by tracked courier, typically DHL or FedEx, rolled in a rigid tube or crated stretched and framed. Import duties and taxes are the buyer's responsibility (DAP).
