Where to start looking
This is a painting about distance, and about how little it takes to imply it.
It is shallow space, deliberately, which makes the surface the subject.
The date is uncertain — it is filed simply as by Ludwig Deutsch.

Why hand-painting matters here
What you lose in a print is the air. The original puts hazier, cooler paint between you and the horizon; a press prints the haze as a flat wash. Handled by hand the far ground goes back where it belongs.
We quote per commission rather than from a catalogue, because size, surface and framing move the number more than anything else. Message us on WhatsApp with your wall in mind and we will price it properly. You deal directly with the studio that paints it — no reseller layer.
Canvas sizes
Every canvas is painted to order, so the size is yours to choose. These are the ones people ask for most:
| Size (inches) | Size (cm) | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 40 × 30 in | 102 × 76 cm | Living room focal wall, above a sofa |
| 32 × 24 in | 81 × 61 cm | Living room, above a sideboard |
| 30 × 24 in | 76 × 61 cm | Dining room, bedroom feature wall |
| 24 × 20 in | 60 × 50 cm | Study, home office, above a desk |
| 20 × 16 in | 50 × 40 cm | Bedroom, hallway, above a console |
If you need a panoramic or an unusually tall canvas, that is a normal request here. We quote the canvas first; framing and shipping come after. Import duties and taxes fall to the buyer (DAP).
Send the wall, the size and whether you want a frame, and we will quote.

In practice it works best over a sofa or sideboard. Because each canvas is built from scratch, we follow the original's proportions instead of trimming the image to a standard shape. Panoramic and vertical formats are both fine.
Before you order
Will it look exactly like the image?
Not exactly, and that is the point — it is a painting, not a scan. Composition, colour and drawing follow the original closely; the surface is where a painter's own decisions show.
Can I resell the reproduction?
Yes. Because the underlying work is in the public domain, the hand-painted canvas is yours to sell, gift or install commercially.
Does changing the size change the composition?
No — we keep the original's proportions and scale from there, rather than cropping the image to fit a standard frame.
