What you are looking at
Paul Gauguin builds the place out of planes. Rue du village is as much architecture as painting, and the street is shallow enough to feel like a stage set.
Rue du village. In our studio the thing that matters is how Paul Gauguin actually works: Gauguin flattens the space into areas of pure colour bounded by heavy outlines.
Why this one has to be painted by hand
Architecture printed goes hard — every edge the same weight. Painted by hand the far buildings stay soft and the near ones carry detail, so the street keeps its depth.
Every canvas is painted to order, so the quote follows your size, frame and destination rather than a fixed list. Tell us what you need on WhatsApp and we reply with an exact figure, usually within the hour. You deal directly with the studio that paints it — no reseller layer.

💬 Get a Quote for Rue du villageWhere a Rue du village hangs best
This one reads well in a room with architectural detail. Because the painter works freehand on a blank canvas we keep the proportions of the original rather than cropping to fit, so an unusually wide or tall composition stays honest at any size.
Questions people ask before ordering
What size should I order for Rue du village?
Any size you like, because the painter works freehand on a blank canvas. Most collectors choose something between 24 x 20 in and 40 x 30 in for this composition. If your wall needs something else, say so and we quote it.
Is Rue du village in the public domain?
Paul Gauguin died in 1903, which puts this work in the public domain — commissioning a hand-painted reproduction is legal, and owning one is legal anywhere in the world. We never pass ours off as the original and never issue certificates of authenticity.
How long does a hand-painted version take?
Roughly two to four weeks of studio time depending mostly on size and how much impasto the surface carries, then several more days for the oil to set before we can photograph and pack it. We send photographs of your actual painting for approval before anything ships.
How close will it be to the original?
It is painted by hand from the same image you are looking at, so it is a painting of the painting, not a scan. Expect the composition, colour and drawing to follow the original closely, and expect the brushwork to be our painter's own — that is the point of commissioning one. You approve photographs before it ships.
