What to look at
You notice the brushwork before you notice the composition.
Thick paint in the light, thin and scrubbed in the dark: a simple rule, executed consistently.
No date is firmly attached to it; it is catalogued under Winslow Homer.

What makes it hard to copy
Landscape is the first thing printing ruins. The press gives you the same green at fifty metres as at five, and the whole point of the picture was that they are not the same green. A painter rebuilds that difference pass by pass, and the depth returns. A machine can copy the image. It cannot rebuild those decisions.
The cost depends entirely on what you ask for: how large, how much texture, whether you want a frame. Tell us on WhatsApp and we come back with a number, normally within the hour. There is no agency in between; the studio that paints your canvas is the one answering your messages.
Choosing a size
Because we paint each piece from scratch, you are not limited to stock dimensions. Common choices:
| Size (inches) | Size (cm) | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 16 × 12 in | 40 × 30 cm | A shelf, a small wall, a gallery group |
| 64 × 48 in | 163 × 122 cm | Villa scale, lobby, hospitality wall |
| 48 × 36 in | 122 × 91 cm | Large living room, stairwell, loft |
| 40 × 30 in | 102 × 76 cm | Living room focal wall, above a sofa |
Every size here is a guide. Tell us what you need and we will build the canvas to suit. Shipping and framing are not included in the canvas quote. Duties and import taxes are for the buyer's account (DAP).
Tell us where it will hang and how big it needs to be — we will price it properly.
💬 Get a Quote for Blyth SandsWhere this one sits best
We have painted it most often for clients hanging it on a stairwell wall, where the depth opens the space up. Proportions follow the original, not the nearest standard frame size. Anything panoramic or vertical is handled as a matter of course.
The practical questions
How do I know what size will look right?
Measure the wall and send a photograph. We will say honestly if the canvas you have in mind is too small for the space, which is the most common mistake.
Is there a rush option?
It depends on the canvas and what else is in the studio. Ask on WhatsApp with your size and we will tell you straight what is possible.
Do you work from my own photograph?
Yes, though that is a separate service. This page is for a hand-painted version of Blyth Sands; for a photo-to-painting commission, send the image on WhatsApp.
