This is the most personal commission we do, and we treat it that way. A memorial oil painting turns a photo you already love into something you can live with on the wall — a quiet, dignified presence rather than a phone screen you have to open.

• Pet memorial portraits. Dogs, cats, horses, birds and more, painted from your favourite photo. For older or lower-resolution images, send what you have; we will tell you honestly what is achievable and can combine references.
• Loved-one memorial portraits. A parent, grandparent or friend, painted from a portrait photo you treasure. We can soften the background and tune the mood so the result feels calm and warm.

How your gift is painted, step by step

Every commission in our studio is painted freehand in oil on artist-grade canvas — not printed, not transferred. The process:

1. Reference & brief. You send the photo(s) and tell us the subject, size, style and frame. We confirm what is achievable and give a written quote and timeline.
2. Underdrawing & ground. The canvas is toned and the composition laid out, matching your photo's proportions.
3. Oil build-up. Colour is mixed and applied in layers. For pet fur, skin and fabric this is where the likeness is built — painter by painter, stroke by stroke.
4. Finishing & inspection. Details are refined, the surface is checked, and once it is nearly complete we send you photographs of the finished work for approval.

Your gift is painted by hand, layer by layer — not generated, not printed.

Choosing the right size

Size drives both the look and the cost, so it is worth getting right. A quick reference:

Any size can be painted, and we can crop or compose to fit a wall that is taller than it is wide. If you are unsure, send a photo of the wall with rough dimensions on WhatsApp and we will recommend a size — free, takes a minute.

Frames

A frame changes the whole feeling of a gift. We offer:

• Gold leaf frame — classic and warm; suits wedding and anniversary pieces.
• Matte black frame — modern, sharp; good for contemporary interiors and pet portraits.
• Walnut wood frame — neutral and gentle; ideal for family and memorial work.
• Unframed gallery-wrap — the canvas is stretched on a deep wooden bar with painted edges, ready to hang with no frame.

Frames are quoted together with the painting so there are no surprises at the end.

What affects the price

We quote per order rather than posting a price list, because three things genuinely change the cost:

1. Size — the biggest factor. A 90 × 120 cm family group takes far longer than a 30 × 40 cm pet portrait.
2. Subject complexity — two people, a dog with detailed fur, or a busy background all add studio hours versus a simple single subject on a plain ground.
3. Frame — real wood frames (especially gold leaf) add to the total; gallery-wrap is the most economical.

Send us the photo, size and frame on WhatsApp and you will have an exact quote — usually within a working day. No obligation, and we will tell you honestly if a simpler option would look just as good.

How ordering works, step by step

1. Send the photo and brief on WhatsApp — subject, size, style, frame, and any date you need it by. We reply with a firm quote and timeline in writing.
2. 70% deposit to start — a secure payment link. The deposit covers the painter's time and materials.
3. Your painter gets to work. Layer by layer, as described above. Typical time is 2–4 weeks; rush slots sometimes available for fixed dates.
4. You approve finished photos. When the painting is complete, we send you photographs of the finished work. Happy with it? Pay the 30% balance. Want an adjustment? Tell us what to change and we adjust it.
5. Shipping. Once the balance is settled, the painting is packed — acid-free paper, corner protectors, rigid tube or crate — and shipped worldwide by tracked courier (DHL or FedEx). Import duties and taxes in your destination country are the buyer's responsibility.
